Submit to Best of British Science Fiction 2019

Further to the announcement on the Newcon Press site, I'm already receiving stories - thank you to everyone who has sent somethng in so far!

NewCon Press are seeking the very best science fiction stories written by British authors and published for the first time during the calendar year of 2019. For the purposes of this project, 'British' means those born in Britain or currently resident in Britain.
All submissions are welcome as long as stories are recognisably science fiction. We are not looking for fantasy or horror or any other shade of genre in this instance.

Best of British Science Fiction 2019 will once again be edited by Donna Bond (aka Donna Scott), who will be known to many of you as the recent chair of the BSFA. As well as being a distinguished poet, writer, and stand-up comedian, Donna is a freelance editor who has worked behind the scenes for a number of major publishers over the course of several years.

This is a paying market, offering 1p a word for reprint rights on accepted stories, up to a maximum of £50.00, along with contributor copies of the book. Send us your very best work for consideration.

Submissions are now open and will close at midnight on Friday 17th January 2020.

Thank you for your attention. We look forward to seeing your work. Please send to: donnanewconpress@gmail.com

Artwork featured below is once again by the fantastic Les Edwards.

I will be coming to Bristolcon this coming weekend, 26th October, and featuring on a panel at 6pm in Room 2, the Jedi Temple Suite. Please feel free to chat to me over the weekend if you have any questions about the anthology. My panel, if you fancy popping along, is on "The Future of Work", moderated by Juliet E. McKenna and also featuring Jason Whittle,  Julia Hawkes-Reed, and Nick Walters.
