What to expect at Delapre Festival of Books

The Delapre Festival of Books is running from 9th-12th May and will feature many different sorts of author and writing events.

Here's the schedule for 11th May, when I'll be appearing along with SF & F author and founder of Newcon Press, Ian Whates.

£15 sounds like a bargain, but even if you only have £2.50 to spare, do come along and listen to us. I mean, look, we are cheaper than cows!

11am – Jill Stanton-Huxton & Clare Thompson – Being a Children’s Book Author. £2.50.
12:30pm – Donna Scott and Ian Whates – Science Fiction. £2.50.
2pm – Rosamund Young – The Secret Life of Cows. £5.00.
3:30pm – TBC
5pm – Babs Behan – Botanical Inks: Reviving the British textile industry – sustainably. £10.00.

All authors will be doing a book signing after their talk. £15 for all talks above or individual ticket prices as listed.

In addition the following tickets are at an extra cost:

11am-12pm – Children’s Create a Character Workshop with Amanda Malben
1:30pm-3pm – Children’s Creative Writing workshop with Gavin Milnthorpe – £5 per participating child. Accompanying adults free.
2pm-3pm – Shakespeare for all the Family
3:30pm-5:45pm – Creative Writing at Work workshop with Brian Clegg – £20
3:30pm-4:5opm – Quentin Blake’s The Green Ship theatre production – £10 adults or £5 children
4pm-5pm – Transitions Poetry Reading and Film Screening with Dr Owen Lowery – £7.50
6pm-6:30pm – Family Comedy Show with Gavin Milnthorpe – £5
7pm-8:20pm – Quentin Blake’s The Green Ship theatre production – £10 adults or £5 children

And between workshops you can explore this, a beautiful manor house and former abbey with 900 years of history. The grounds are wonderful to walk round too. Also, did I mention cake? They have cake.

I'm very happy to take any questions you would like me to put to Ian, and eventually pop the answers on this site. Get in touch below!
